LTF’s board and staff mourn the passing of former Illinois Supreme Court Chief Justice Mary Ann McMorrow. As Chief Justice, McMorrow led the effort to increase the attorney registration fee by $42 per year to support legal aid. Her leadership at a time of crisis helped save dozens of attorney positions in the legal aid field and laid the groundwork for a stable source of legal aid funding that continues today.
